Kicking off the collection thread. My June purchase at an AutoNation Ford store: inspection sheet provided unprompted, doc fee stated in the first email, and the money-back window spelled out on the buyer's order. The add-on pitch happened (protection package, VIN etch) but one decline ended it. Big-group predictability is the draw here — the store followed corporate policy to the letter, which is exactly the trust signal I want from a franchise auto dealer.

Adding a financing note: their pre-approval matched my credit union within 0.2%, but only after I showed the competing sheet. Bring outside approval; it keeps the finance office honest everywhere, AutoNation included.
